What is The Healing Experience?

The Healing Experience is the creation of Dr. Guy T. Gunter, and is based upon his education and experience in science and healthcare over the past thirty years.

The results patients enjoy through The Healing Experience come from the combination of several therapeutic approaches applied in a rigorous scientific format. Andrew Weil M.D. refers to this as "Integrated Therapeutic Care."

The Healing Experience offers chiropractic as the fundamental treatment modality. However, this is not your common "rack 'em, crack 'em… next!" chiropractic visit.

The therapeutic approach at The Healing Experience is focused on as many levels of treatment as there are levels to the dysfunction. "This is not some secret new age healing technique."

We use the basic analytical format that Goodheart presented in Applied Kinesiology. This model considers the patient's dysfunction at three distinct levels of normal function: biochemistry (which includes nutritional), structural (muscles, connective tissue and bones) and electro-magnetic (including emotional and EMF stresses).

We use single and double-blind analysis to determine nutritional and herbal needs, and we treat all dysfunctions manually. There are no cold machines at The Healing Experience.

In 1997 we collated data from our files concerning two diagnoses: 722.0, cervical pain with disc involvement and 727.10, lower back pain with disc protrusion. There were 219 patients in the first group and 436 in the second. All patients were seen at our facility between January 1992 and March 1996. The results were astounding.

93% of the first group were completely free of pain and could function normally after the third visit. Another 4% required seven visits and 2% were referred to orthopods. 95% of the low back patients were pain free and fully restored to normal function in five visits. Another 2% required seven visits and 3% were referred.

This data indicates that in cases of acute severe neck or low back pain our system restores function and alleviates pain in 97% of our patients within seven visits.

According to Procedural/Utilization Facts, a chiropractic trade publication, acute cervical pain with disc involvement requires twenty visits over eight weeks using only standard chiropractic care. Data available on lumbar pain with disc involvement indicates twenty-two visits over eight weeks.*

The difference in duration of treatment between The Healing Experience and standard chiropractic care is the result of the multiple therapeutic approach unique to The Healing Experience.
